Delegate Items and Delegate Responsibilities

Each FFA chapter in good standing shall appoint two delegates to the State Leadership Conference each year. All chapters are allotted two delegates regardless of the size and membership count in their chapter. A delegate packet with business items will be posted here no later than two weeks prior to the first day of SLC. Delegate responsibilities include:

  • Serving on a pre-assigned committee from 11:00-12:15pm on Thursday of SLC.
  • Participating in the general delegate business meeting from 3:45-4:45pm on Friday of SLC.

Delegates should do the following prior to SLC:

  • Meet with their chapter advisor(s) to discuss the delegate issues.
  • Solicit input from their chapter about each issue.
  • Be familiar with their specific committee issue.
  • Be familiar with FFA in Idaho and be interested in advancing the organization.
  • Locate their chapter's delegate voting sign and bring it with them to SLC.

Several delegates each year will be selected by the State FFA Officers to serve as committee chairpersons. These individuals are usually district officers. Committee chairpeople have an additional responsibility to report out their committee findings to the entire SLC assembly during the fifth general session on Saturday morning.
