What to do if you need a copy of your GED transcript:

If you completed all or part of your GED outside of Idaho, click HERE

If you completed your GED In Idaho:

To receive a copy of your GED transcript you will need to fill out and sign a transcript release/request form (pdf_44kb). There is also a $5.00 processing fee charged by the State Office for each official copy of your transcript.

Due to privacy of information regulations and state policy:

  • We do not
    • accept faxed transcript request forms
    • verify GEDs over the phone
    • accept transcript request forms if they are sent without the appropriate fee.
    • accept credit or debit cards for payment
  • We do
    • accept walk-ins in our office
    • accept mailed transcript request forms accompanied by the appropriate fees.
    • fax or mail your transcript to a third party if indicated on the transcript request form
    • accept personal/company checks or money orders
    • want to help you, so please call us if you are unsure about how to request your transcript or have any questions.

If you come in to our office for a copy of your transcript, please note that we are unable to make change. Please bring either $5.00 in cash or a $5.00 money order.

BE ADVISED: Personal & Company checks take 3 weeks to process. For expidited processing please send a money order.

We will respond to ALL requests as quickly as possible. If we do not have a record of a particular GED we will send you a letter stating such. Given the large number of requests that are processed through our office, we do not follow up on requests over the phone. Please allow for mailing and processing time when planning for your transcript.

If you completed all or part of your GED outside of Idaho

If you completed your GED testing outside of Idaho, you will need to contact the State in which you completed the GED for your transcript.

If you took part of your GED testing in another state and would like to finish your testing in Idaho, or you did part of your testing in Idaho and would like to complete the GED in another state, you will need your scores transferred.
