That knowledge is put to the test when students get the opportunity to challenge themselves in industry based competency exercises in a variety of agriculture and leadership scenarios. CDEs are based upon the general curricular areas covered in a typical agriculture class throughout the nation. Idaho offers 22 industry-based CDEs at the state level that cover broad areas of agricultural education and the agriculture industry in Idaho.
