These students are allowed to join FFA in Idaho, but do not enjoy all membership privileges accorded to high school members. These restrictions are as follows:
MEMBERSHIP IN THE FFA FOR STUDENTS NOT ENROLLED IN AN AGRICULTURE CLASS FFA is a component of an agricultural education program. The conditions for membership are defined in the National FFA Constitution in Article V – Membership. If a student does not meet the provisions of the National FFA Constitution (Article V. Membership) they cannot be a member of the FFA. The FFA is not a "club" to be joined separate from an instructional program. If a student is not enrolled in an agricultural course at school, a planned course of study must be developed if membership is desired. If it is the intention of a student and/or parent for the student to be an FFA member without enrolling in an agricultural course or following a planned course of study, I would refer them to the 4-H program. FFA MISSION - The FFA Mission is, “FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for Premier Leadership, Personal Growth and Career Success through agricultural education. |
