Supervised Agricultural Experience, or SAE, continues to be identified as a critical activity for student success and a vital component to create a complete, integrated agricultural education program. The two summaries available on this front page, highlight research supporting the continuing need for viable and meaningful SAE programs.
Much has changed in the world of education, technology, agriculture and culture since 1992, which was the last time the SAE Handbook was revised. This handbook, now offered electronically, reflects the innovative ideas and forward-thinking tools needed to assist agricultural educators in creating SAE programs that are relevant, rigorous and manageable.
This handbook is not designed to be the only source for ideas and tools, nor does it represent a philosophy of SAE. Rather, this handbook was designed to spur creativity, provide convenience and consolidate resources sought by teachers. Use the tabs to navigate through the SAE handbook. Some highlights of interest are:
- Updated lesson plans about SAEs that include corresponding PowerPoint presentations
- Video segments that show a variety of SAE programs for classroom use
- Samples of record-keeping systems, assessment tools, grading procedures and more
- Ready-made tools to use with partners
All of the files included can be downloaded for your own use. Additionally, you may continue to find resources at the SAE Central website. You can find the link by going to ffa.org.
