Joint School District No. 2 and the Boise Valley Habitat for Humanity formed a partnership in 2001. Each year, students build a Habitat home that is ready to occupy by June. Students gain marketable construction skills, learn the value of community service, and experience the satisfaction that comes from helping others.
Residential Construction is a three-year program that follows the National Center for Construction Education and Research curriculum. Students can earn 14 college credits through tech prep agreements with Idaho State University. An Annual summer “Magic Camp” sponsored by the Idaho Association of Women in Construction is held to attract young female students into the architecture and construction industry.
