Renewal for the Secondary Occupational Specialist
The certificated educator has sole responsibility for maintaining current, valid Idaho certification. For renewal purposes, the applicant must meet current State Board of Education rule and Idaho statutory renewal requirements.
NOTE: The applicant is responsible for notifying the State Department of Education certification office of either a name change or change of address.
The renewal application and $75 fee may be submitted anytime between January 1 and August 31 of the year in which the certificate expires.
A complete packet must include the following items:
1) Completed and signed application (Form C2 - Application for an Idaho Secondary Occupational Specialist, marked for renewal
2) Application Fee - $75

3) Verification of completion of the Professional Development Plan (PDP)

4) Verification of completed courses or credit hous required for renewal. Transcripts do not need to be official.
To renew a Standard or Advanced Occupational Specialist certificate, an applicant must show the equivalent of six (6) credit hours, 90 inservice hours, or 240 work hours or a combination of the three. 15 hours of inservice = 1 credit hour, 40 hours of work = 1 credit hourNote: Recertification credits may not be carried over from one (1) renewal/recertification period to the next.
