Family and Consumer Sciences
Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) education is designed to empower people to strike a balance between home and career. FACS programs enable students to acquire broad, transferable skills for employment and personal life as well as job-specific skills in occupations related to children, the elderly, food production and management, hospitality, education, resource management, and social and human services.
All students face the challenge of living and working in a diverse, global society. As life becomes more complex, it is increasingly important to assist people to meet the basic human needs of daily living, to think critically, to take responsibility for their own lives and to respect the rights of others in the family, the workplace and the community.
