Integration Academy
Improving Academic Achievement through Professional-Technical Education
The Division of Professional-Technical Education, in collaboration with the University of Idaho and Idaho State University, is offering a course for PTE educators and their academic counterparts to improve their students’ academic achievement.
This course is designed to:

Develop classroom curricula that highlights the academic content & teaches directly to Idaho’s core academic standards

Integrate reading, writing and/or math into any PTE course or program area.

Offer a learning environment that is flexible and convenient for the adult learner

Create integration strategies and activities to be developed and shared amongst participants
Visit the Idaho PTE Lesson Plan Library to learn more about the lesson plans and integrated strategies developed by past Integration Academy Participants
Course Credit Options
Professional Development Credits: PTTE 405/505
1-2 Credit Course: Introduction to Integration
Held twice per year: once in conjunction with Summer Conference, and once during an in-service day (TBD by institution)

The following will be taught by adjunct faculty during Fall/Spring semesters
3-Credit Hybrid:
- 45hrs/semester: combination of face-to-face and online discussion, activities, and assignments
- Face-to-Face times are left to the discretion of the instructor and students

The following will rotate during Idaho teacher in-service days:
Three 1-Credit:
1-Credit: Integrate Reading: Approach and Delivery Concepts
- 8 hr face-to-face plus additional coursework
1-Credit: Integrate Language Arts: Approach and Delivery Concepts
- 8 hr face-to-face plus additional coursework
1-Credit: Integrate Mathematics: Approach and Delivery Concepts
- 8 hr face-to-face plus additional coursework
