CONNECTING TO POST-SECONDARY
At this point it is advised that your administrative team and a counselor from your high school arrange to visit your regional post-secondary college. Hopefully, they have a Construction Program. If not, it is wise to contact them and let them know you are considering starting a Construction Program and that you will be articulating your construction classes with those of several post-secondary programs within Idaho.
This is not only important from a relationship perspective but may be invaluable later when your district's construction students articulate to that college to enroll in associated programs.
You should definitely visit at least one, if not several, post-secondary colleges that do offer Construction or Construction-related programs. This visit can be very fruitful in many areas ranging from articulation, program strategies, budgets, start-up assistance, program Advisory Committee membership, and many, many more. Such a visit should include at least a stop at the Construction Program, its faculty and facilities, and a visit with the Division Head of that program. The Division Head can commit assistance and resources to starting and running your program beyond what a faculty member can obligate. Their help can be invaluable.
