NIOSH Safety Checklist

Shop safety, equipment maintenance, and OSHA safety training for students are vital elements of successful STS programs. During formal Program Reviews, shops will be inspected using the NIOSH safety checklist that can be found on the NIOSH website.

Instructors should conduct annual "self-checks" of their programs and facilities using the NIOSH safety checklist. They should be prepared to discuss the results of the latest safety inspection and corrective actions taken with the Program Manager during the Program Review.
