Skilled and Technical Sciences Program Information

Skilled and Technical Sciences (STS) programs use industry standards as the basis for their curricula covering approximately 25 occupational areas including; Electronics, Automotive, Construction, Welding, and Information Systems Technology (IST). IST includes computer repair and maintenance (A+), networking (Net+ and Cisco), Oracle, web design, flash media, visual basic, and a new certification for Home Technology Integration.

Some of the new skilled occupations being offered in Idaho schools include Robotics and Automated Manufacturing, 3-D Animation, Media Technologies (Broadcasting, Graphic Communications, Journalism, and Photography), Environmental Sciences, Masonry, and Aviation careers. Students receive state of the art education from instructors who have served in the industry and are certified technicians in their trade areas.

  • Secondary programs follow a three-year sequence of instruction including a multiple period at the senior year to master competencies to meet industry standards.
     

  • Postsecondary programs prepare students to perform advanced level problem solving and technical skills in the workplace.
