Workforce Training Network
The Workforce Training Network is a network of the six technical colleges and other state agencies involved in providing Idaho's employers with a quality, globally competitive work force. The WTN coordinates delivery of customized training statewide to meet the needs of employers and citizens.
Vision
To create public/private partnerships that benefit Idaho's workforce and economy.
To actively promote the role of training for the enhancement of organizational performance.
To be the statewide customized training provider of choice.
Goals
Goal #1
To establish and sustain proactive and long-term partnerships in area communities between businesses, industries, economic development agencies, colleges, universities and related organizations to accomplish the Workforce Training Network mission.
Objective 1-1
Strengthen partnerships with employers to provide training to meet the needs of the business and industry.
Objective 1-2
Collaborate with public sector agencies and contractors providing public services to develop and provide training courses that meet their needs.
Objective 1-3
Strengthen linkages with local, regional and state agencies to provide training for existing and new industries.
Goal #2
To create a statewide network to:

Direct and coordinate customized training and develop outreach programs, services and activities.

Recruit and serve targeted customers.

Assess customer training and development needs.
-
Collaborate with business/industry to deliver customized training (credit and non-credit) courses and consulting services tailored to meet those needs.

Develop a customer data base.

Share in the development and dissemination of state-of-the-art training products and resources.

Leverage other public and private funds to maximize the impact of this initiative.

Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the training and development outcomes.
Objective 2-1
Develop alliances among state technical colleges to provide a system approach to respond to statewide training requests from industry and from other agencies.
Objective 2-2
Deliver high quality professional-technical education programs at convenient locations via telecommunications and other emerging technology.
Goal #3
To focus the Network on serving the following customer groups:

The primary focus will be on the current/incumbent workforce.

The secondary focus will be to open the transitional workforce, the emerging workforce and entrepreneurs.
Objective 3-1
Establish guidelines, in collaboration with business, industry and other agencies for providing rapid response to training for dislocated workers.

To focus the Network on serving the following customer groups:
