What Makes a Program?
Articulation Agreements
Agreement between secondary and postsecondary educational institutions that outline a non-duplicative sequence of classes and other experiences leading to completion of a postsecondary education program.
Appropriate Curriculum Design
Design consists of 2 years of secondary school preceding graduation and 2 years or more of post secondary education following the secondary instruction with a common core of required proficiency in mathematics, science, reading, writing, communications and technologies designed to lead to an associate degree or a post secondary certificate in a specific career field.
Curriculum Development
Curriculum in tech prep programs will support the Idaho academic achievement standards, and when appropriate will use work-based learning, education technology and distance learning.
In-Service Teacher Training
Training for secondary and post secondary teachers in the use of contextual and applied instruction and training designed to help teachers and administrators stay current with the needs, expectations and methods of business and industry.
Counselor Training
Training for counselors to help them be more effective in providing information to students regarding Tech Prep education programs and related employment opportunities.
Equal Access for Special Populations
Provides equal access to the full range of technical preparation programs for individuals who are members of special populations.
Preparatory Services
Provides for preparatory services such as career counseling, professional-technical education assessment and testing to non-enrolled Tech Prep students prior to the 11th grade.
